The Cunningham's Law Exploit

There's something oddly noble about defending your artisanal copy-paste workflow from Stack Overflow while everyone else is letting AI write their entire codebase. It's like insisting on hand-grinding your coffee beans while your coworker just bought a fully automated espresso machine that also does their taxes. Sure, Claude can generate an entire React component in 3 seconds, but where's the adventure in that? The thrill of the hunt through 47 Stack Overflow tabs, the careful selection of which answer from 2014 still works in 2024, the delicate art of renaming variables so it doesn't look too copy-pasted during code review—that's craftsmanship, baby. The dad's unhinged enthusiasm perfectly captures that defensive energy when someone questions your deliberately inefficient workflow. "MADE BY MAN!" he screams, as if manually Ctrl+C-ing code from a 10-year-old forum post is somehow more authentic than prompting an LLM. Both are technically copying someone else's work, but one makes you feel like a real developer™.

Nothing beats the raw, unfiltered knowledge from that one Indian guy on YouTube teaching complex algorithms on a 240p video with a $2 microphone. Meanwhile, senior devs with fancy degrees are watching the same video because Stack Overflow is down and the documentation might as well be written in hieroglyphics. The best part? That "beginner" tutorial somehow solves problems the official docs claim are "impossible." The programming hierarchy isn't about years of experience—it's about who can find that one perfect tutorial at 3 AM when everything's on fire.

The revolutionary concept of actually reading documentation before asking for help. What sorcery is this? The distinguished frog gentleman represents that rare developer who took five minutes to check the docs instead of immediately posting "halp pls" on Stack Overflow with zero context. For those uninitiated, RTFM stands for "Read The F***ing Manual" - the ancient incantation senior devs whisper when juniors ask questions answered in paragraph one of the documentation.

The face every senior dev makes when some kid who just discovered "Hello World" starts dropping hot takes about the industry. That classic list of naïve programming opinions is what we veterans call "peak Dunning-Kruger." Sure, LeetCode will definitely prepare you for building enterprise systems that handle millions of users. And yes, we senior engineers just type "how to code good" into Google faster than juniors. Nothing says "I've never built anything real" quite like claiming backend is just "hitting APIs." Eight years of experience? More like eight minutes on a JavaScript tutorial.
