This Is Literally My Company

This Is Literally My Company
The evolution from "code however you want" to "you WILL follow the style guide or your PR gets rejected" is peak corporate transformation. What's fascinating here is the complete 180° flip in philosophy—from "if it works, ship it" to treating ESLint violations like war crimes. The old guard's argument of "will the customer ever read this code?" is technically correct but strategically catastrophic. Sure, Karen from accounting won't be reviewing your nested ternaries, but your coworker who inherits your code at 2 AM during a production incident absolutely will. And they'll remember your name. The irony? Both extremes are wrong. No standards = chaos. Too many standards = bikeshedding about whether to use tabs or spaces while the actual product burns. The sweet spot is somewhere between "anything goes" and "you must name your variables according to the ancient prophecies." Style guides aren't factory rules—they're peace treaties that prevent code review comment sections from turning into philosophical debates about semicolons.

Linux Kernel Style Guide

Linux Kernel Style Guide
The Linux kernel devs have spoken! Why bother with those pesky GNU coding standards when you can just set them on fire? It's the ultimate programmer power move. Forget tabs vs spaces debates - we're now in the "print and burn your style guide" era. Torvalds would be proud of this chaotic energy. Nothing says "I write kernel code my way" like the ashes of formatting rules gently floating away...

What Grinds My Gears: Naming Convention Chaos

What Grinds My Gears: Naming Convention Chaos
Three-headed dragon meme showing the naming convention struggle. Two fierce heads labeled "camelCase" and "snake_case" represent proper coding standards. Then there's the derpy third head with its tongue out labeled "This_Thing" – the abomination that combines both conventions and makes senior devs contemplate career changes. The code review is going to be brutal.

Public Service Announcement (Of Doom)

Public Service Announcement (Of Doom)
OH. MY. GOD. This is the WORST coding advice since someone told me to delete System32 to speed up my computer! 🙄 Four spaces for imports?! FOUR?! Are you TRYING to trigger every Python developer's PEP 8 compliance alarm?! The Python style guide SPECIFICALLY says imports should be at module level with NO INDENTATION! This is the coding equivalent of putting pineapple on pizza and calling it "authentic Italian cuisine." I can't even! My eye is literally twitching right now. Someone please revoke this man's programming license IMMEDIATELY!
