The true nice number

The holy war that never ends. One dev asks if you use camelCase or PascalCase, and the other responds with the only sane answer: following your team's coding conventions. The first guy is basically that colleague who will die on the hill of their personal style preferences while the rest of us just want the codebase to be consistent so we can go home at a reasonable hour.

The "vibe coders" who've been letting AI agents autocomplete their way through sprints are about to face a reckoning. When Cursor goes down or the API quota runs out, suddenly nobody remembers where the double-click event handler lives. Can't ask Copilot to find itself. We're raising a generation of developers who know how to prompt but not how to grep. The muscle memory is gone. The IDE is a mystery box. Right-click? What's that, some kind of legacy interface? Give it six months and we'll have Stack Overflow questions like "How do I open a file without AI assistance?"
