IP Over Avian Carriers: When Packet Loss Is Literal

IP Over Avian Carriers: When Packet Loss Is Literal
The infamous "IP over Avian Carriers" was actually a real RFC (1149) published in 1990 as an April Fools' joke. It proposed using pigeons to carry data packets - and someone actually implemented it with a whopping 55% packet loss rate. The meme brilliantly illustrates "packet loss" with a dead bird. Because when your carrier pigeon dies mid-flight, that 4GB USB stick tied to its leg isn't exactly reaching the destination server. Still faster than some rural internet connections though...

We Don't Talk About IPv5

We Don't Talk About IPv5
The great IPv6 conspiracy finally exposed! After decades of network engineers forcing us to memorize hexadecimal nightmares like 2001:500:2f::f , someone's finally calling out this madness. Remember when IP addresses were just four simple numbers? Then these networking folks decided "let's add letters and colons because clearly that's more user-friendly!" Meanwhile, NAT was sitting there the whole time, perfectly capable of solving our address shortage without making us type hieroglyphics. The diagrams at the bottom really sell it - complex network schematics that might as well be ancient runes to most of us. Twenty years of "IPv6 is the future" and we're all still running IPv4 with NAT because, surprise, it actually works. And yes, there's no IPv5. It was experimental, never deployed, and now exists only in networking folklore - like documentation that's actually helpful.

Sony Why Rule

Sony Why Rule
Ah, Sony's corporate strategy in a nutshell! While other companies might embrace industry standards, Sony's out here like a toddler refusing to share toys. Remember MiniDisc? Memory Stick? ATRAC? Blu-ray? It's like they have a pathological need to create their own proprietary format for everything , then act shocked when the rest of the tech world doesn't bow down in reverence. Their business model is basically "make consumers buy our specific cables and adapters until they weep." The tech equivalent of saying "I'm taking my ball and going home" except the ball is a weird pentagon shape that only fits in Sony-approved goals.
