GitHub Copilot went from "helpful coding assistant" to "that guy who won't shut up at standup" real quick. Sure, you can ask it anything, but maybe you shouldn't have given it the ability to inject suggestions into literally every line of code you write. Nothing quite captures the developer experience of typing a simple function name and watching Copilot hallucinate an entire microservices architecture you didn't ask for. The polite thing to do? Tell it to kindly back off and let you think for yourself. Sometimes the best AI assistance is no AI assistance. Fun fact: Copilot's suggestions are based on billions of lines of public code, which means somewhere in its training data is probably that cursed PHP script from 2009 that you're desperately hoping nobody ever finds.

So Google's Gemini AI just casually suggested using fs.rm() with force: true and recursive: true on a base directory path. You know, the digital equivalent of "have you tried burning down your entire house to get rid of that spider?" The autocomplete tooltip even helpfully reminds us that this "removes files and directories (modeled on the standard POSIX rm utility)" - as if that makes it better. Yeah, we know what rm -rf does, Gemini. That's precisely why we're concerned. Nothing says "AI-assisted development" quite like an algorithm suggesting you obliterate your entire project directory with the nuclear option flags enabled. At least it returns a Promise, so you can await your own destruction in an orderly, asynchronous fashion.
