We've all been there—you click "Update and shut down" thinking you'll just grab a coffee, but then Windows decides it needs to install 47 updates, reconfigure your entire registry, and contemplate the meaning of existence. The "Update and restart" option? Same energy, different button. Both will take anywhere from 5 minutes to the heat death of the universe, depending on how badly you need your computer right now. The time estimate is basically a random number generator with optimistic bias built in.
