O-rly Memes

The White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland holding a pocket watch is the perfect mascot for every project manager who's ever walked into your cubicle with zero requirements but an aggressive timeline. "We don't know what we want, but we want it fast" is basically the unofficial motto of software development. It's like being asked to bake a cake when nobody knows if they want chocolate or vanilla, but they definitely need it yesterday. "Deadline Driven Development" should honestly be added to the list of official methodologies alongside Agile and Waterfall. It's where you throw best practices out the window, skip the unit tests, hardcode everything, and pray the tech debt doesn't come back to haunt you during the demo. Spoiler alert: it always does. The "O RLY?" at the bottom is the chef's kiss—it's exactly what every developer thinks when management drops another "quick win" on their lap at 4:45 PM on a Friday. Just make it happen, they say. Sure, let me just conjure up a fully-tested, scalable solution from the void while you're still figuring out the requirements.
