Income Memes

The financial hierarchy of developer life stages, illustrated with brutal honesty. Employees get their steady 3k every month like clockwork—boring but predictable, like using Java for everything. Freelancers? Wild income swings that would make a rollercoaster jealous: 900, 5k, 0 (ouch), 9k, 1k, 4k. It's like playing Russian roulette with your rent money. Founders grind through six months of zeros eating ramen and debugging their life choices, then BAM—600k exit or funding round. The startup dream in a nutshell. Open source maintainers? They're out here maintaining libraries used by Fortune 500 companies and getting paid in exposure and the occasional "thanks bro" in GitHub issues. The real MVPs running on pure passion and caffeine. But the vibe coder takes the cake—they're literally LOSING money (-$20, -$100, -$200, -$200) because they're too busy vibing and buying domain names for side projects they'll never finish, paying for 47 different SaaS subscriptions, and impulse-purchasing mechanical keyboards. They code for the aesthetic, not the paycheck. Respect the hustle, even if it's financially questionable.
