Gamers will complain about their 9-to-5 being repetitive and soul-crushing, then go home and spend 8 hours clicking the same mining nodes in an MMO or driving a virtual forklift in a warehouse simulator. The cognitive dissonance is real. At least in Euro Truck Simulator, nobody emails you asking why the shipment is late or schedules a standup meeting at 9 AM to discuss your delivery velocity metrics. The difference? One pays your rent, the other gives you achievement notifications and dopamine hits. Turns out humans will do literally anything if you add a progress bar and some XP points to it.
