Discard-changes Memes

So this person decided to test out VSCode's source control features and clicked "discard" on 5,000 files. Spoiler alert: it worked. Too well. Permanently deleted 3 months of work with zero chance of recovery because they weren't actually using Git yet—just exploring the UI like it was a harmless demo mode. The beautiful irony here is blaming the editor for doing exactly what "discard changes" means in source control. That's like getting mad at a chainsaw for cutting things. The feature assumes you have commits to fall back on—you know, the entire point of version control. Without Git initialized, VSCode just yeeted those files straight to the void, bypassing even the Recycle Bin. The rage-induced "FUCK YOU" spam at the end is honestly a masterpiece of digital grief. This is what happens when you play with production-grade tools before reading the manual. Git doesn't have an "oopsie" button—that's the lesson. Also, maybe don't test destructive operations on your only copy of 3 months of work? Just a thought.
