Someone just walked into a computer store and said they don't want their RAM in a data center, they want it in their computer... in their house. The tech guy's face perfectly captures the "sir, that's literally how it works" energy. This is peak misunderstanding of what cloud computing actually means. Like yeah buddy, your RAM has always been in your computer. Nobody's storing your DDR4 sticks in AWS us-east-1. The cloud isn't literally stealing your physical hardware components and teleporting them to a server farm in Virginia. It's storing your data remotely, not your actual silicon chips. The paranoia about "the cloud" has reached new heights when people think their physical memory modules are being outsourced.
