CISC processors out here living their best life with simple, elegant instructions while RISC architecture turned "add two numbers" into a THEATRICAL PERFORMANCE requiring seventeen costume changes. Like, imagine needing to MOV MOV LEA ADD MOV just to do basic arithmetic when CISC could've done it in ONE instruction. But nooo, someone decided we needed "efficiency" by making everything unnecessarily complicated. The absolute AUDACITY of RISC designers being like "let's take this perfectly functional instruction set and explode it into a thousand micro-operations because PERFORMANCE" and then having the NERVE to claim it's simpler. Meanwhile, hardware engineers are building entire decoder circuits and microcode ROMs just to translate CISC into RISC operations under the hood anyway. The irony is *chef's kiss* because modern x86 processors are basically RISC cores wearing a CISC trench coat. Fun fact: RISC stands for "Reduced Instruction Set Computer" but really it should be "Ridiculously Increased Steps to Complete" anything. The whole philosophy was supposed to make things faster by keeping instructions simple, but now you need a PhD to figure out why your "simple" addition takes 11 clock cycles. THEY PLAYED US.
