"Gently" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. That 24-pin motherboard connector requires the grip strength of a superhero and the determination of someone who's already committed to the upgrade. You press the little release tab with your thumb until it goes numb, wiggle it side to side like you're defusing a bomb, and then finally yank it with enough force to question whether you're about to rip the entire motherboard out of the case. The connector stays locked in there like it's been welded. Meanwhile, you're sweating, the case is creaking, and you're pretty sure you just voided several warranties. But hey, at least you didn't use a screwdriver as a pry bar. Yet.
