Java was almost called Oak. Glad they changed it.

Someone just declared the Soviet Union as a C struct and I'm losing it. The genius here is using C's union keyword to define the USSR—because in C, a union lets multiple members share the same memory space, and only one can exist at a time. Just like how the Soviet republics were technically "united" but, you know, things got complicated. The syntax is technically valid C code where each republic is a pointer to a char (because pointers to countries, obviously). The asterisks make them pointers, which is fitting since these republics were all pointing in different directions anyway. It's both a history lesson and a data structures lesson wrapped in one cursed tweet. The real kicker? Using union instead of struct means only one republic can occupy the memory at once. That's some dark humor about political instability right there.
