14 Year Old Me
We've all been there. You're a bright-eyed kid who just wants to download some cool code or tool, and GitHub hits you with their repository page that looks like a NASA control panel. No big green "DOWNLOAD" button anywhere. Just a wall of commits, branches, pull requests, and a mysterious green "Code" button that opens a dropdown menu with more confusion. The turtle's bewildered "what is this place?" perfectly captures that moment when you realize the internet isn't just websites with obvious download buttons. It's version control systems, release pages hidden in tabs, and the realization that maybe you need to learn what a repository actually is. Some of us spent 20 minutes looking for that download button before finally clicking "Releases" on the right sidebar. Fun fact: GitHub's UI has actually gotten MORE confusing over the years with all the added features. So if you struggled with this as a kid, imagine how the new generation feels.

Me Still Today

Me Still Today
GitHub's UI has been a maze since the dawn of time. You land on a repo page and suddenly you're playing hide-and-seek with the download button. Is it under Code? Is it in Releases? Do I clone it? Do I download the ZIP? Why are there 47 different green buttons and none of them say "download"? The "what is this place?" caption hits different because even after years of using GitHub daily, you still occasionally find yourself staring at a repo like it's your first day on the internet. The confusion doesn't age—it just becomes more embarrassing.
